Elk; The Ultimate Trophy

Edgemont, SD

1-4 Guests • Lodge • Private • Guided

Description

Elk otherwise known as “Wapiti” opportunities are available on our private ranch located in Western South Dakota from late August for velvet antlers until early December. The Rocky Mountain Elk species stands as one of the largest deer species weighing up to 700 pounds with their antlers being one of the fastest growing organisms on Earth.

Adventure Is Calling

With trophies ranging from the delicious meat provided by a mature cow to the combination of meat and antlers offered by a world-class bull, we offer a wide selection of hunts that can be arranged for your ideal trophy Elk experience. Situated in sparsely wooded terrain with hills and steep canyons with optimal glassing points, spot and stalk tactics are an ideal pursuit tactic for either rifle or archery. This habitat makes recovery efficient via UTV so your Elk can be processed at the lodge without wasting valuable meat.

There are limited opportunities available each year based on our management practices, but fortunately, there are no draw or over-the-counter tags required for our Elk so there is no excuse for you to miss out on this hunt of a lifetime.

What to expect

Our South Dakota-based elk hunting packages are typically set up as all-inclusive 3-day guided experiences which include two nights of lodging and meals as well as trophy preparation and storage during your stay. Group hunt durations vary based on the number of hunters and are catered to keep everyone having a blast throughout the trip. Rifle rental, butchering services, taxidermy, and meat/trophy transportation are available at reasonable rates to ensure you get the most out of your adventure. Don't forget, all coyotes encountered during the hunt for your big game animals are fair game at no additional charge if you possess a South Dakota Predator/Varmint hunting license.

Rules & Guidelines

It is our intent to provide our clients with a quality hunting experience offering a highly probable shot opportunity, however several of our species are not guaranteed hunts and depend on the proper management of mature animals to yield continual success. Although we monitor the census of animals in our hunt areas and base our availability on their numbers, free-range specie options may not always provide the trophy-class opportunity that you desire. Our wide range of hunting opportunities may be catered to your expectations as our service depends on your satisfaction. Please contact us to discuss your individual hunting requests so we can plan the right hunt and you may enjoy an adventure of a lifetime with us.
