2. DIY Hunting Access to 1,600 Acres in Washington

DIY Hunting in the Huckleberry Mountains
1,600 Acres | Cabin Lodging Available for up to 11
The Hunting
We offer our guests incredible hunting experiences with access to almost 1,600 acres of managed timberland, and secluded lodging with all the amenities to make your hunting adventure memorable. The ranch also provides the opportunity for black bears, mule deer, whitetail deer, moose, elk, cougar, bobcat, coyote, grouse, and turkey hunts.
We provide hunters with a unique and rugged sanctuary habitat, over 10 acres of food plots, 4 year-round creeks, and hundreds of acres of contiguous timber. We had the Carpenter Road wildfire move through the ranch in 2015, and although we lost the majority of our thick timber stands, it provided an amazing boost to the resident wildlife with a flush of new undergrowth and browse.
Hunting is reserved on a first-come-first-served basis, and by request only. Spots are limited, and we only allow one group at a time to hunt on the ranch to ensure a quality experience.
The price is per person per day to hunt the ranch, and that includes access to the cabins on the ranch for up to 11 people.
The Cabins
The main cabin and bunkhouse are located at the fork of Hunters Creek and Moose Creek in a secluded valley. The cabins are powered by 100% green energy through the hydropower facility and solar panels. The cabin has crystal clear, spring-fed water running to it with all the comforts of home! An adjacent bunkhouse is available next door and can sleep an additional 5 adults. The cabin and bunkhouse come with numerous amenities including an air conditioner, hot water, high-speed WiFi, LCD TVs with Blu-Ray players, a wood stove, a wood-fired Chofu jacuzzi, and small refrigerators.
The 1,600-acre ranch is gated and provides breathtaking views, trails, fishing at the trout pond, hiking, ATV riding, and is only minutes from the Lake Roosevelt recreation area in the town of Hunters. The roads provide easy access to all areas of the ranch, and all areas are open for exploration.
The Ranch
The ranch’s main focus is on forest management to increase commercial timber production, and wildlife management through habitat restoration and careful long-term planning. We have been working closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to implement our forestry and habitat goals. The ranch has been awarded multiple grants and participated in programs to allow for the best land stewardship.
Commercial operations on the ranch focus primarily on our hunting operations, forestry, and cabin rentals. We also offer a range of recreational opportunities for anyone to enjoy from hiking, camping, and trout fishing to wildlife viewing and even boating on the nearby Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area located only 5 miles away, and visible from the ranch’s high grounds. To assist our family, and give our ranch more financial options, we recently constructed an off-grid, renewable hydro energy facility that will provide clean, cheap power as our ranch continues to grow. This power source will supply all the electrical energy our current facilities require, as well as produce enough for additional planned cabins. We worked closely with The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ensure our project was designed efficiently and responsibly.
3. Line Hunting for Gators in Louisiana

Average 8 1/2 foot Gators!
We are no-kill no pay with a 100% success rate. We pride ourselves on consistently killing the biggest alligators in the country! With over 100,000 acres in the Atchafalaya Basin and the limited number of Louisiana tags given out, our gators have no hunting pressure so we are able to scout, pick out, and selectively harvest mature bull gators 20+ years old.
This hunt is using a line. No guaranteed size but they will be 6ft+ with an average of 8.5ft.
You can expect to see 40-50+gators a day. Our target for the hunt is over 9+ft because once they get to that size, their head size is only a 1-inch difference per foot, which makes it hard to judge when on the water.
Along with the hunt, we guarantee a great Cajun experience with tons of hospitality, the best Cajun food, and unbeatable scenery. Our guest will stay on a newly renovated houseboat overlooking the swamp and just steps away from the launch. Our goal is to make this an experience you’ll never forget.

Base price is per person for a 3-Day Hunt. Make ti a 4 or 5-Day hunt for an additional fee per person.
What to Expect on your Sika Deer Hunt
On a typical day’s hunt, we do not hunt the first morning. We will get started early afternoon. A lot of our hunts are accessed by boat or Argo on foot to multiple feed stations. We have found that it is not advisable to go in the dark as you want the deer to feed and then ambush them on their way back to the feeders in the afternoon. We will meet between noon and 3:00 p.m. and go over the itinerary for the first afternoon’s hunt, get you into the stand where you will be prepared to catch these deer on their return into the feeders and using the trail systems. A lot of our hunts are off the beaten path and a lot of times during your hunt we will boat in or use Argos to get you to places that are otherwise inaccessible. We do not hunt early mornings, some of our clients will bring a ground blind or climber and we can point out some free public areas they are more than welcome to hunt in the morning at no charge. Some of these spots are off the beaten path and are very good places to hunt. We do not access them as an Outfitter it is strictly show and tell. There are some Whitetail and some big bucks on some of our properties. It is not uncommon for them to be taken on a hunt. We allow them to be taken as well at no additional fee. After the hunt if you are successful we will come in and retrieve the game for you and we can either get you straight to quarter yourself or we use a local butcher shop in Cambridge and can have it broken down or even processed if time allows. The most important aspect of these hunts is to take an ethical shot. The worst thing you can do is take a bad shot at least sick of deer in their remote and rugged areas. They can carry a bad shot forever… you will find there is nothing like hunting these deer and to hear and their bugles right in their premier habitat.
What to Bring on your Sika Deer Hunt
Although bugs can be bad early in September they are mainly mosquitoes and are handled well by Thermacells, other than light gear and maybe a face mask is all that is necessary. The other typical bugs that you would find in the northern region are just not present. Without the thermostat can make for a pretty miserable hunt. Also to access some of our remote stands on high tides and during storm surges it is a good idea to bring a pair of chest waders or hip boots as well if you have. Almost all hunting scenarios Muck Boots or calf high will work just fine. We typically do not hunt early a.m. if guys want to bring their climbers and take advantage of some of the nearby public areas first thing will be glad to show and tell at no cost. Later in the year can really very in temperatures and rain and snow. Will need clothing accordingly. Fluorescent orange is also necessary during the rifle and black powder seasons. Recommended rifles calibers from 243 caliber up to 7mm. Typically your weapon, clothes, boots and a Thermal Cell is all that’s necessary. Anything else is just frills and keep an eye on the weather situation to make sure you’re fully prepared.

How do you hunt them?
- On a boat, with air rifles, or a noose on a fishing pole. We kill every iguana humanely with our air rifles.
Why do you hunt them?
- They are an invasive species in South Florida and the population is out of control. They are causing damage to so many residents' homes/yards.
Do you need a license to hunt them?
- No. "Like all nonnative reptile species, green iguanas are not protected in Florida except by anti-cruelty law and can be humanely killed on private property with landowner permission. This species can be captured and humanely killed year-round and without a permit or hunting license on 25 public lands in South Florida".
