Rules & Guidelines
Draw/Tags
Colorado elk tags for second and third rifle season and rifle bear tags are all available over the counter. All mule deer tags are available by draw only and most do not currently require any preference points. There is a September rifle high country mule deer hunt in Unit 74 that is one of the best hunts in the state and requires 10+ preference points. Archery, muzzleloader, first and fourth season elk tags are also only available through the draw typically with no preference points required. The Colorado draw deadline is always the first week of April. For assistance with putting in for preference points, please contact us.
Colorado State Hunting License Info:
- Habitat Stamp*: $10.40
- Cow Elk License (Nonresident): $496
- Bull Elk License (Nonresident): $661
- Deer License (Nonresident): $396
- Bear License (Nonresident): $351
*anyone ages 18-64 MUST buy a Habitat Stamp in order to buy or apply for a preference point or a hunting/fishing license
