Utah is well known for trophy class mule deer, these hunts are some of our best mule deer hunts. We offer guided and semi-guided hunts in some of the best areas in Utah. We can advise the best mule deer hunting option for your specific desires.

Trophy Quality
Most mature bucks on the private ranches will have 22" to 26" racks with an occasionally 30" or larger buck spotted. Some of the biggest bucks are found in limited-entry areas.

Hunting Areas
We hunt private ranches in northern Utah and limited-entry units scattered around Utah. The hunt areas are usually in awesome looking country with elevations ranging from 5500 to 9500 feet.

Hunting Methods
Hunting methods often include glassing & spotting openings, hillsides, and thickets, spot & stalking, watching water holes, or still hunting trails and ridges.

Shot Opportunity
Shooting opportunity usually averages 90% to 100% on the guided hunts. Shots may range from 100 yards to as far as you can reliably shoot. Sight rifles dead on at 200 yards. Flat shooting, long range calibers are best.

Guiding Options
Guided Hunts: Choose 1 to 3 hunters per guide. Hunts include your guide, whatever lodging is available in the area, modest guide prepared meals, field dressing, game retrieval, skinning, and caping.
Semi-Guided: Hunts include a guide who provides hunting directions, whatever lodging is available in the area, modest guide prepared meals, and help with game retrieval, skinning, and caping. You will hunt mostly on your own.

Accommodations
Cabin or Tent Camp: We prefer to rent one of the rustic cabins in the local area, if a cabin is not available we may have to set a spike camp. Modest guide prepared meals are also included with the guided and semi-guided hunts.
Motel “Town Hunts”: Stay at a comfortable motel in town. We will pick up & return guided hunters daily. Semi-guided and unguided hunters drive themselves. Motel rooms and restaurant meals are not included, budget for these expenses.

Base price is for the Semi-Guided and Management Hunts. For Fully-Guided options, see Additional Costs.

Rules & Guidelines

Licenses & Hunter Education
Landowner licenses for Mule Deer are available over the counter. Applications for limited-entry hunts are due in Feb/Mar. Hunter Ed is required if born after Jan 1, 1965.

What’s Not Included
Your personal gear, sleeping bag, motel rooms, restaurant meals, meat processing and shipping, taxidermy, licenses, gratuities, and any other items not listed as being included.

Travel, Directions, Itinerary
If you fly into the Salt Lake City and rent a car, it’s only about a 1 to 3 hour drive depending on the area to be hunted. Driving directions will be sent to you in advance. Arrive the evening before your hunt begins. The last evening stay at a motel near the butcher shop so you can clean up that evening and pick up your meat from the butcher shop in the morning before departing for home.

Taxidermy and Meat Processing
Both services are available locally, meat processing is usually done in a day or two, or you can transport your trophy and carcass home.
