GMU 53 offers over-the-counter archery and shotgun Merriams Turkey tags, making our lodge an excellent hunting destination year after year. Along with available prairie dog and free coyote hunting, Dorado offers a unique opportunity to chase your favorite western game species with the comfort of an amazing lodge to come back to.
Base price is per person per 3.5-day/4-night experience. Minimum of 2 hunters max 4. There is a required cleaning fee per group. Add on Prairie Dog Hunting for an additional fee per day per hunter.
The draw units have a deadline in the early part of February. Then the OTC tags are available to purchase in early March. We are starting our turkey hunting off slowly this year. These birds haven't been hunted on this property in many years. We have no doubt hunters will bag Toms easily!
The Cabin
The cabin is in a stunning setting, tucked in right under the 11,400-foot peak of Mount Lamborn, which dominates the view in the North Fork Valley. The log home is a fantastic example of log home construction built with round spruce logs imported from Canada. The main living area features a spacious kitchen and an open living room with cathedral ceilings. 2 bedrooms downstairs with a full bathroom and a loft area with a master bedroom with a full 5-piece bathroom make for spacious comfortable accommodations.

All hunters must possess a hunting license in Colorado. Hunters under the age of 18 may purchase a youth license. Additional licenses, stamps, or permits may be required.
Hunters between the ages of 12-18 may purchase a youth big game license.
Colorado does not offer a hunting license specifically for senior citizens.
