Southeast Missouri Self Guided Duck Hunt

1-6 Guests • No Lodging • Private • Self-Guided/DIY

Description

Base price includes one day hunt for up to 6 people!

All self guided hunters will meet with a member of our team the afternoon before the first day of the hunt to discuss the current bird activity and to visit the pit/blind location. All self guided hunters can expect a comfortable pit or blind that is fully brushed with a large, permanent decoy spread in a prime location. We normally run well over 300 decoys at each location with motion decoys provided.

We use all of our pits/blinds for both self guided and guided hunts, so all locations will be equipped with the best gear in the industry and kept in mint condition. Any member of our guide service team will be more than willing to give your group expert advice on what they have been doing to lure birds into the spread.

ATV/UTVs are not required but strongly suggested with some locations being over a mile walk from the parking locations.

With this kind of hunt there is a lot of freedom, but we do strongly suggest booking a guided hunt if you have never hunted in or near our area before.

We are nestled in the southern most corner of Southeast Missouri, bordering one of the nation’s oldest refuges, Big Lake NWR. Sitting between several major refuges on the Mississippi Flyway gives us the opportunity to see thousands of migrating waterfowl on any given day.

Cancellation Policy:

- All deposits and paid hunts are non-refundable. If due to circumstances beyond our control a hunt is cancelled, we will reschedule your trip either later in the current season or the following season.

- As with any wild game hunt, it is impossible to guarantee limits. What we can assure you of is that no one in our area will work as hard to get you on some birds during your trip.

Are waders needed to hunt your various locations?

- Because we have multiple spots, the water depth is hard to give in a concrete value. In some areas the depth is just a few inches while in others it can be up to two feet deep. We strongly encourage our self guided clients to wear waders. If you are on a guided hunt a good pair of waterproof knee-boots will be fine because our guides will provide transportation right up to the blind/pit.

What are the bag limits?

- 6 ducks per hunter

- 2 specklebelly

- 20 snow geese

- The possession limit is 3 times your daily limit.

What types of ducks are most commonly harvested in the area?

- Mallards, Gadwalls, Pintails, Divers, Green-Winged Teal, Widgeons, and Shovelers

Are ATV/UTVs needed for Self Guided Hunts?

- While they are not required, we strongly advise that you make arrangements to bring a way of transportation to and from the pits. The gumbo mud of Missouri can be challenging for even the most fit of hunters. Most clients would agree it is an absolute necessity for a smooth hunt.

Do you allow young children on trips?

- Of course, all of our team sparked a love for waterfowl hunting at a young age, and we would love the opportunity to share the excitement that happens in a duck blind with your young hunters.
