Our Guarantee
Unlike Outfitters that guarantee success or shot opportunities, we know that it is impossible to do so on public land or even private land fair chase hunts. This is especially true when it comes to Roosevelt elk hunting in the rain forests of the Pacific Northwest. Our guarantee is that we scout and work hard year around to prepare for your success. This is what gives us a very high shot opportunity rate. We have game cameras set up in several locations throughout the year and we produce hundreds of pictures and videos of the Roosevelt elk that we will hunt during the season.
Not only do we say that we scout but we can prove it by producing more footage than most other Roosevelt elk outfitters combined. We guarantee that we are committed to scouting year around and that you will hunt hard in productive areas from daylight until dark. We do not drop you off in blinds and leave you. We are your guide to success. We guarantee that you will have a great guide and that you will be in or around elk every day of the hunt. We also guarantee that you will be well fed and that we will give 150% each and every day that you are with us. Other than those guarantees we do not guarantee success or shot opportunities, but we do guarantee that we will do whatever we can to make sure it happens. This is fair chase hunting, and nobody wants to succeed more than us.
Terrain and Hunting Techniques
The terrain that Rocky Mountain elk live varies greatly. It is mostly steep and rugged country with deep canyons filled with thick brush, open hillsides, and timbered forests. Rocky Mountain elk habitat can stretch from the mountainous regions all the way to the sagebrush on the edge of the Desert. It is best to be in good physical condition for these hunts. We can cater to physical disabilities in most units.
We use all methods for success. We love spot and stalk, still hunting and calling bulls during archery season but in the dry weather, we aren't afraid of sitting water and waiting for a thirsty animal.
Guaranteed Outfitter Tags
Each year, Outfitters are allowed to apply for 50% of the Non Resident tags for deer and elk that were drawn in the previous years public draw. Guaranteed outfitter tags are available on first come first service basis, directly through a qualified outfitter such as us. The tags can be sold to Non Residents only and are available starting December 31 of each year however we start taking names for the first come list long before our draw. These tags are unit specific tags that outfitters have drawn in a separate draw that takes place just between outfitters. Outfitters then have until March 31 each year to sell those tags. If the tags are not sold they return to the state and can be purchased by outfitters in a leftover draw pool. These tags can take anywhere from 8-20 years for a non resident to draw in the public drawing.
If you are interested in a premium tag for Elk or Deer don't hesitate to call us. We can put you on the list and get you on a great hunt without having to draw a tag.
Wound Policy
Our guides at will do everything in our power to give you a great shot opportunity within a reasonable distance. With that being said, we do not take risks when pulling the trigger. You, as a hunter, have the responsibility to make an ethical, clean and quick kill. Unless you are 100% confident in your shot, you should not take it. As sportsmen, we are responsible for our wildlife. Thousands of animals each year go unrecovered due to poor shot placement.
We understand that things happen and that sometimes a great shot isn't that great. However, we will advocate for the animals every time. Should you shoot an animal that we deem to be mortally wounded and are unable to recover it, we will then be searching for that animal for the duration of your hunt. We do not have a 48 hour rule or a pay to keep hunting another animal rule.
