About the Hunt
Our layout boat duck hunts generally take place on Lake Huron, Lake St Clair, and world-famous Saginaw Bay!
These are action-packed hunts that will test your shooting skills as you bounce around in the waves while trying to shoot birds at eye level!
You’ll need waders, a warm waterproof coat, and plenty of shells!
It is not uncommon to kill up to 15 unique duck species in one trip including species like:
- Old Squaw
- Eiders
- Redheads
- Canvasbacks
I book layout boat hunts as a group of 3-5 hunters.

All hunters older than 16 must obtain a valid hunting license. Youth licenses are available for hunters 10-16 years old. A Mentored Youth license can be purchased for hunters 9 and younger.
In order to purchase a hunting license in Michigan, anyone born on or after January 1, 1960 is required to successfully complete an approved hunter education course.
