Hardpan Camp - Black Bear Hunt

Cody, WY

1-12 Guests • Drop Camp • Public • Guided

Description

Our original camp, right in an excellent migration area, is a trophy hunter's delight. This camp has a general season for Elk, Oct. 1-21, but we use it primarily for spring Black Bear, Bighorn Sheep, Trophy Elk.

We offer 7 day fair chase sight and stalk spring Bear hunts in May and June. Hardpan is a good area for color phase Black Bears and these tags can be purchased over the counter for both residents and non-residents of Wyoming. Dates are flexible and licenses can be purchased over the counter.

Hardpan Camp is located at 7,500 feet, 12 miles inside the Washakie Wilderness of the Shoshone National Forest (Elk area 56, Deer Region F). It is about a 3 ½ hour ride from the trailhead on Green Creek to camp. We operate in the Shoshone Forest under a special use permit and are an Equal Opportunity Service Provider.

The dining and recreation tent is 14 x 16 ft. with 5 ft. side walls. It is furnished with tables, chairs and a large wood burning stove…a great gathering place for telling tales of the day's adventures or a friendly game of cards.

Two hunters share a 10 x 12 ft. tent with 5 ft. side walls. Also provided are wood-burning stoves, cots, lanterns and foam mattresses for sleeping.

Rules & Guidelines

LICENSE

Get information about Wyoming Non-Resident License Prices & Application Deadlines from the Wyoming Game & Fish (WGFD) Website: https://wgfd.wyo.gov/Apply-or-Buy/License-Fee-List

We help all our clients through the application process. All clients with reservations

will be sent "license packets" in December of the year before their hunt. We encourage

you to fill those out promptly and return them to us so we can proof them for you and

forward them on to the WGFD. This helps to ensure your application does not get held up for any oversight or omission.

PREFERENCE POINTS

For non-residents, Wyoming has preference points in place for big game species. The

preference point system is designed to improve your odds of eventually drawing a

license. Preference points can be accumulated either by applying for a license with the

preference point option or purchasing a preference point each year for the species you

are interested in. Preference points can be purchased online by using the WGFD website during the July 1-October 31 application period.

While we advocate purchasing preference points for some hunts, in many instances, they are not necessary to draw a tag so please contact us for more information on this program.

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION

Please note, there is a 50% deposit included with your booking fee.

If you are not successful drawing a license, this deposit can be held over for

the next year or refunded in full. Once you have drawn a big game license, your deposit

is non-refundable.

The cancellation policy for guests is as follows: Guests may cancel up to 60 days before their scheduled departure and receive a full refund—within the 60 days their deposit is forfeited. Please carefully read our cancellation policy before booking. All clients are sent a contract to sign outlining the dates of your trip, the agreed upon price and the services provided.

Trips booked over a year in advance may be booked at the current year's

price.
