Description

Fishing The Lower Niagara River for Monster Fish!

Huge Salmon, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Brown Trout and of course the GIANT Smallmouth Bass

There are many great things that can be said about the Niagara River, most importantly the fantastic view. Sightseeing from up top looking down at the famous gorge is one thing. However, to see it from a boat heading up one of the most powerful, navigable rivers in the country is an incredible adventure to say the least. The swift currents, the twisting water, makes for a once in a lifetime trip up this famous river. The Lower Niagara river not only offers year round fishing opportunities but history as well. The lower sections of the river quickly turn into a smooth tranquil water way with a lazy current which is a perfect time to take in the view of old homes and history that are on both sides of the mighty Niagara. The drift down river takes you towards two famous tourist destinations, Fort Niagara on the American side and Fort George on the Canadian side.

The scenery on the great river is worth the price of the trip but the fishing is what you came for and this is some of the most exciting fishing in North America.

The Niagara River is home to many species of fish including King Salmon, Steelhead trout, Brown trout, Lake Trout, Smallmouth bass, Walleye and Muskies.

Depending on the time of the year there is always a fishing adventure waiting for you in the Niagara River.

King Salmon on the Niagara River: September-October

The river is know for its fall run of King Salmon that are fished in the Devils hole area of the river. It normally begins in late September and goes until the middle of October. It’s not a long season and the dates go quickly.

Steelhead on the Niagara River October – May

You’ve read about it in every outdoor magazine, The Mighty Niagara Steelhead Fishing and it’s some of the best in the country. The Steelhead enter the river in October and stay all winter long. We do fish all year in the river weather permitting. The way we fish for Steelhead is drifting the river presenting the fish with many different types of bait. There is no trolling, it’s just you, your fishing pole and the fish. We do have other Trout in the river, for example Lake Trout that we target from time to time as well as Brown trout. If you have never fished the Niagara, it’s something you have to do and to see it from a boat is even better.
