The Dismal Swamp Refuge is very massive and protected.. To have a piece of land near there is something special. We have over 1500 acres that butts right up to refuge on both sides of it. It doesn’t get any better than right here at The Dismal Swamp Lodge.. The number of Black Bear in and near this refuge reach staggering numbers which makes our success 100% most all the time.

Dismal Swamp hunts include Lodging and Meals.

Bear hunts are semi- guided and you will be taken good care of!!!

Your guide Earl will take good care of you while you're in camp. He's been bear hunting since he was young and knows a great deal about the bear and their movement patterns in this area.. He will do anything and everything legally to get you on a trophy bear!!!

Growing up in Northeastern North Carolina couldn’t have been a better place to live as a young boy. I started going on hunting trips with my father at the age of 6. He took me duck hunting in the sounds of Currituck and deer hunting all over eastern North Carolina. I was addicted to the thrill of the hunt. Since then, my dream has been becoming a hunting guide. Now it's myself and 11 other people that make our client's dream hunts a reality.

Rules & Guidelines

Liability

All hunters in your group will be required to sign a release of liability waiver prior to hunting.

Cancellations

Please note, there is a 50% nonrefundable deposit included with your booking fee, required to reserve dates for your group. In case of cancellation, the remaining 50% will be returned to you.

Due to certain life circumstances, you might not be able to make your reserved dates. If that is the case, we allow you the next hunting season to reschedule.

License

All hunters must have a valid North Carolina Hunting License, and abide by all NC Hunting Regulations. Out-of-state hunters are able to purchase a license online or at a local business upon arrival. Word of advice: Call and order your license. Don’t try to do it online! This is by far the easiest method. And always remember the one-year license is only $20 more than the 6 day!!! So, if you plan to turkey hunt or duck hunt with us, it's much cheaper to purchase the full year hunting license. Cost depends on the state you live in!

Tipping

Tipping is not required, but it is well appreciated. Our guides go out of their way to ensure you're going to be successful and do everything in their power to recover and retrieve game that was harvested….
