Description

Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting in the Duck Mountains of Western Manitoba

Hunt in one of the best areas allocated in Western Manitoba for Trophy Whitetail Deer. Our exclusive, 2,500 square mile area is located in and along the Duck Mountains of western Manitoba. This new area has many trophy size Whitetail buck in the 140-180 class. Because this area is so vast and remote, a chance for a Pope & Young and Boone & Crockett buck is a good possibility,

The deer in this area have received very little hunting pressure. We hunt out of box blinds, metal ladder stands and pop-up ground blinds. The area consists of vast ranges of timber, agriculture and swamps. We have stands set up on private farms as well as in the Crown Govt. land in the Duck Mountains. We travel to the hunting areas by pickup trucks and then by Polaris rangers and 4-wheelers, very little walking is involved. We can also accommodate the physically challenged or elderly hunter. You may hunt with rifle, bow, cross-bow or black powder, though no handguns are allowed in Canada. Timber wolves may be taken on your deer tag during this hunt. We only take 4-6 hunters per week to assure the utmost satisfying hunt.

You can drive directly to our location or fly to Winnipeg, Manitoba on a Sunday and rent a car and travel by paved highway 250 miles North and West of Winnipeg to the town of Pine River, Manitoba. There you will be met by us and taken to a modern Bed and Breakfast. That afternoon you will sight in your gun if needed and prepare for the next days hunt. Next morning you are up early for a fabulous breakfast and then taken by your guide to your hunting stand. You hunt all day and your guide will check in on you mid day. You will hunt till dark and your guide will return to take you back to the Bed and Breakfast. You are responsible for your lunches and suppers. The Bed and Breakfast has a fully operational kitchen with stove, microwave, dishes, pots & pans and utensils for cooking and eating.

WHAT TO BRING – RECOMMENDED GEAR

Our bear hunts take place in late May and June. In June, the high daily temperatures average in the 60s to lower 70s. Moose hunts are held in mid-September till early October. September weather in northern Manitoba is similar to late October and early November weather in the upper Midwest, with periods of cool/cold, unsettled weather followed by beautiful fall like days. Snow is a possibility in Northern Manitoba while moose hunting.

The weather in Northern Manitoba can vary greatly on a weekly and even daily basis. It is a good idea to pack for a wide range of weather conditions regardless of the timing of your trip.

Please note, there is a 50% nonrefundable deposit included with your payment when booking.
