Captain Scott has been fishing the waters of New Jersey since he was a young boy. His fishing experience has included plying the waters up and down the entire east coast along with a healthy stint in the Carolinas during his college years. Armed with an education degree and a minor in biology, the captain welcomes children and novices along with experienced anglers. Capt. Scott contributes articles each year to The Fisherman and was the subject of several feature articles in North Carolina Sportsman during his days fishing the Cape Fear coastal region. In 2007, he was featured in the Atlantic City Press - At The Shore for weighing in numerous trophy fish. In addition, Capt. Scott can be found doing fishing seminars during the winter months. The Sweet Melissa II is a 21 foot center console Contender boat. The "deep V" hull allows the vessel to cut through choppy water, but its 18 inch draft can still put anglers in the skinny waters less than 2 feet when chasing fish in the shallows. Powered by a Yamaha 200 horsepower HPDI outboard engine, the boat reaches speeds more than 44 mph. The Sweet Melissa II has a 30 gallon livewell and is equipped with a Raymarine VHF radio. In additon, the boat has a Raymarine depthfinder/GPS unit and another Garmin GPS machine. A personal locator beacon is always onboard also. The open floor plan in the Contender allows plenty of fishing and walk-around space. Fishing the inshore waters from Ocean City to Beach Haven and everywhere in between, you will be privy to the finest backwater angling the state has to offer. The abundance of creeks, channels and inlets that needle through the natural, marshy landscape hold the gamefish you are seeking. These waters are calm and protected, hence you will not become seasick. You can also catch your quarry in the ocean with Capt. Scott. He fishes from just outside the surf out to the nearshore/offshore wrecks and reefs that hold such a vast amount of quality fish. When fishing with Capt. Scott, you can be confident that your success and comfort will be the top priority. His goal on each outing is to create the angling memories of a lifetime for your party.
