Logan credits his dad for many things, but one in particular is his love for fishing and even more-so, fly fishing. Growing up with a lake in his backyard, it wasn’t uncommon to spend an afternoon fishing for whatever they could catch before the sun set. On special occasions and summer trips, Logan’s family would camp at the state parks to trout fish. Logan was around 10 years old when his dad bought him his first fly rod, a Walmart special, and started teaching him how to cast, by practicing in the street of the campground. Fly fishing continued to be a “special occasion hobby” through Logan’s college years simply because of the lack of access to places suitable for fly fishing, especially for trout. During this time, he met the love of his life, Kelly, and soon had her in the waters, reeling in the trout, when the opportunities arose for a trip. It was in these years that Logan found many hobbies thrilling for a time, but always found himself back with a fly rod in his hand. It may have been the chance to travel, around 2018 and 2019, and experience some incredible fly fishing that turned his hobby into a passion. His adventures took him all the way from Southern Florida, to Southern Alaska, to Colorado, and many places in-between. This is when it became known to Logan that fly fishing was something he wanted access to, more than just on special occasions. So, in 2021, Logan, his wife, Kelly, and son, Graham, moved from Southwest Missouri to North Central Arkansas to pursue his dream of becoming a fly fishing guide on the White River. Now, when he isn’t on the river, you can find him home tying flies, teaching his toddler to cast a fly rod, or trying to convince his wife he needs more time on the river.
