Hi, I'm Bill

I've been a member since September 2020

Hello. I’m Bill and I’ve been running these rivers since I was nine years old, which means I’ve seen 50 years of these rivers. My family is from Eminence for quite a few generations, and I’ve never worked too far from home. After 30 years working with the National Park Service in maintenance, I retired and am starting out new as a river fishing guide, boat tour and land tour operator. My guide service & tours are authorized within Ozark National Scenic Riverways to provide interpretive guided boat touring, eco-touring, and fishing trips. We are very proud of this designation, and hope to continue meeting the high expectations this designation brings.

I grew up in the canoe rental business, working for Windy’s and Carr’s Canoe Rentals. As a teenager, I ran a ferry during the last days of the Powder Mill Ferry. I have been fish guiding people since the mid-1980s, because I grew up on the river, and know where the fish are, and what conditions they like. Fishermen talk and I have and still do learn from them. I know the rivers well, and know what it is like to love to fish. Someday I hope to expand this to land tours and some of the many sights of Shannon County. I went through the process to become officially authorized to do this as a private citizen. But more than just the fish, I want to give you the experience of being on an Ozark river, with all the local history and nature that means.
